European Solidarity Centre
The European Solidarity Centre in Gdańsk is a symbolic and educational hub dedicated to the history of Solidarity, the trade union movement that played a pivotal role in the fall of communism in Eastern Europe. Housed in an architecturally impressive building, the Centre serves as both a museum and a cultural space, offering a range of interactive exhibits, historical documents, and personal stories that highlight the struggles and triumphs of the Solidarity movement. Its exhibitions not only recount the significant events of the 1980s but also connect them to broader themes of freedom and human rights. The Centre is a dynamic venue for workshops, discussions, and events that encourage democratic engagement and civic participation. A visit here is essential for anyone interested in understanding the profound impact of Solidarity on Poland and the wider world.
