Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio, Florence's oldest and most famous bridge, spans the Arno River and is renowned for its charming shops and picturesque views. Built in 1345, it was the only bridge in the city to survive World War II intact. The bridge is lined with jewelry shops, art dealers, and souvenir stores, maintaining a tradition that dates back to the Medici era. Above the shops, the Vasari Corridor connects the Uffizi Gallery to the Pitti Palace, allowing the Medici family to cross the river privately. Visitors to Ponte Vecchio can enjoy a stroll along its length, taking in the bustling atmosphere and the scenic beauty of the river and surrounding buildings.
