St. Vitus Cathedral

St. Vitus Cathedral, the largest and most important church in the Czech Republic, is located within Prague Castle. This Gothic masterpiece took nearly 600 years to complete, with construction beginning in 1344. The cathedral houses the tombs of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors, including St. Wenceslas and Charles IV. Its stunning stained glass windows, intricate stone carvings, and the grandiose St. Wenceslas Chapel are among its most notable features. Visitors can also climb the 287 steps to the top of the Great South Tower for a panoramic view of Prague.
